I’m currently faced with a bit of a dilemma. I’m getting a bit fed up with my flat feeling like the epicentre of the sun. No matter what I do I can’t get cool. I’ve permanently got all the windows open, I’ve shelled out £20 on the world’s worst fan from B&Q and I’m constantly wandering around wearing a suit I only get out on my birthday and sitting in front of the fridge.
The thing is I don’t want to start moaning about how hot it is. Problem is that this heat is bonkers and sitting in my chair feels like I’m pushing around in a hot water bottle. Only the other day I got in my car and it was 39 degrees. That’s 39 DEGREES, that feels hotter than when you get molten cheese on your chin after taking a bite out of a pizza when you know should have waited ten minutes. It was that hot in the car that the rubber on my hand-controls melted and stuck to my hand.
What makes it worse is that I know this isn’t going to last. I’m going to Latitude next week with Miss G and we have decided to camp for the full four days (blog to come on my camping tips in a chair). I can guarantee that it will stay hotter than the earth’s core until Wednesday and then start to rain, scratch that it will probably snow. If anyone has any tips on how I can stay cool until the blizzards come, other than sleeping in a bath of ice, then please do let me know.
