As it is a new year I thought I’d expand the blog a bit for 2011 and start to give info on some of the places I go in the big smoke. I’ve started to get increasingly frustrated in trying to find useful access info for places to eat, drink, see a film, grab a coffee etc. So as well as giving not so useful updates on my beard growth and jumper buying habits I’m going to start rating and giving a short description on the places I go in London. If anyone has any suggestions for other criteria I can use to rate then please let me know by emailing info@rockupandroll.com.
First up is Giraffe in Pimlico http://www.giraffe.net/restaurants. I normally find Giraffes, that’s the restaurants not the animals, a bit hit and miss and if you pick the wrong one you can find yourself crammed in amongst a sea of baby buggies and tourists. This one though is great and has a really nice feel to it. It is, at most, a five minute push or walk from Victoria train and bus station and the Palace and Apollo theatres where you can see Billy Elliot and Wicked.
This restaurant is fairly small and at a guess I reckon it holds about 80 people. That being said there is plenty of room to move around with ease and getting to the disabled loo couldn’t be easier. It’s also fairly easy to book a table here and if you do phone in advance and mention you are coming in a wheelchair they will move a dining chair and have a space waiting for you on arrival.
The food is also great here and you can get everything from curries to burgers and at about £12 for a starter and main its pretty good value too.
